There’s a brand-new event at The Military Museums, filled with learning, discovery, and hands-on experiences! Tactical Days is a family-friendly event that brings together military, public safety, and emergency response organizations this summer. Tour the museum, talk to the dedicated personnel, and get a closer look at some amazing equipment. With lots of entertainment for the kids, too, it’s a day the whole family will enjoy.

Step Into Canadian Military History

The Military Museums is an award-winning Calgary attraction representing Canada’s Army, Air Force, and Navy. Dedicated to preserving and sharing our military heritage, the museum invites visitors to explore the victories, tragedies, and sacrifices of the men and women who served.

Inside the museum, you can:

  • Walk through a realistic First World War trench
  • Learn about Canada’s renowned tank regiments
  • Discover personal stories behind Canadian military service

Tactical Days

The Military Museums Tactical Days, from August 15 – 16, 2026, is a day filled with activities. Get a closer look at military and emergency response vehicles, tactical gear, and communications equipment, including tank tours! Grab lunch at the food trucks or attend a ‘Meet a Serving Soldier’ presentation. There is also a dedicated Kids’ Zone, and your ticket includes access to the museum.

Visitors will have the opportunity to:

  • Meet real soldiers and first responders
  • Explore military vehicles, police units, fire engines and emergency response equipment
  • Experience tank tours and live demonstrations
  • Meet the STARS Air Ambulance crew (Saturday, operational availability permitting)
  • Connect with search and rescue teams, HMCS Tecumseh, Army Reservists and other community partners
  • Enjoy family activities, food trucks and full access to Canada’s largest military museum in Western Canada

Participating organizations for this special event include the Canadian Armed Forces,  the 41 Canadian Brigade Group (Army Reserve), the 41 Service Battalion (KOCR), the HMCS Tecumseh (Royal Canadian Navy Reserve Division), and the Canadian Forces Recruiting Centre (CFRC). The Calgary Police Service will be there, with their Tactical, Canine, and Mounted Units. You’ll also find the Calgary Fire Department, the STARS Air Ambulance (Saturday, Aug. 15 only, operational availability permitting), EMS Services, Calgary Search and Rescue Association, and more!
