Musica Academy Summer Camps: Where Potential Becomes Reality

With a little strumming and a little singing, some dancing and a whole lot of laughter, your child will have a wonderful time at summer camp this year! Musica Academy, Yamaha School of Music, knows how to engage the musical streak in children of all ages, through rich exploration. This summer, you can help discover your child’s creative potential and give them a great time with Musica Academy summer camps.

Music provides joy, entertainment, and personal contentment. It develops your creativity, enhances your memory, and offers a lifetime of pleasure. Musica Academy makes all this easy for families, with summer camps and programs and two Calgary locations.

Kids ages 5 to 18 can explore the world of music this summer as Musica Academy creates just the right environment to help children reach their goals in a fun and artistic manner. Camps are run with the Yamaha philosophy of Listen, Sing, Play, Read, and Compose in a group setting to encourage collaboration and creative fun learning. Even if your child has had no musical experience before, this could be their summer to develop something they’re passionate about!

Featured Day Camp: Safari Music Camp

The Safari Music Camp will be great fun this summer! In this camp, kids ages 5 – 9 will explore music through jungle theme songs with games, musical theatre, dancing, and arts and crafts. No experience is necessary for this keyboard-based camp, perfect for beginners or those with some experience. Half-days from 9 am – 12 pm and 1 – 4 pm and full-days from 9 am – 4 pm are available. This camp runs at the NW studio from July 10 – 14, 2023, and August 14 – 18, 2023. It runs at the SW studio from July 17 – 21, 2023, and August 21 – 25, 2023.

Evening Camp: Guitar/Ukulele Camp

Sometimes schedules are tricky, and if a day camp doesn’t work, Musica Academy also offers evening camp programs, like the Guitar/Ukulele Camp for kids ages 10 – 18. It runs twice a week for four weeks (8 classes a month) and the fun and easy lessons are perfect for beginners and a great way to try out something new without a huge commitment. Kids will learn music fundamentals, and experience pick style, fingerstyle, notation, and tablature reading in a group setting. The group lesson format lets them experiment with the roles in a group: rhythm, lead, or bass. This camp runs July 5 – 31, 2023, on Mondays and Wednesdays from 6 – 7 pm at the NW studio and from July 4 – 27, 2023, on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6 – 7 pm at the SW studio.
