Theatre Calgary is a premier theatre company, with nearly 60 years of experience in creating new worlds on stage. Founded in 1968, the company performs numerous shows every season. Many shows are designed for adults. But there are plenty of family favourites, including an annual performance of the beloved show, A Christmas Carol.

Summer camps at Theatre Calgary draw kids into the magical world of the theatre. Camps are for kids in grades 3 to 12 with one-week camps or two-week intensives. But these programs also build confidence in young artists. They support the growth and joy of every camper as they build skills and expand their abilities. Camps run from 9 AM – 4 PM and culminate in a final performance to share what campers have learned and accomplished.

Theatre Games Summer Camp | July 13 – 17, 2026
Kids going into grades 3 – 5 and 6 – 8 can jump into a range of theatre arts, including acting and drama, puppetry, stage combat, circus, music, movement and more.

Acting Intensive | July 13 – 17, 2026
Youth in grades 7 – 12 can do a deeper dive into character development, text analysis, scene study, and acting technique. It’s a chance for teens to stretch their acting muscles!

Musical Theatre Intensive | July 20 – 31, 2026
This two-week camp (Mondays to Fridays) allows kids in grades 4 – 6 and 7 – 12 to train with professionals while they sing, dance, and act. Campers at all levels are welcome. They will explore story and character, vocal technique, singing, movement, and choreography.

Playmaking Intensive | July 20 – 31, 2026
This two-week camp (Mondays to Fridays) is for kids going into grades 6 and 7 – 12. Campers will explore different components of the theatre while also discovering everything from writing to collaboration to performance.
