December 31, 2022 | The City of Edmonton is excited to bring back the New Year’s Eve Downtown Festival & Fireworks for the first time since 2016! Enjoy your choice of two firework displays at 8:30 pm and midnight, plus a full evening of programming including skating at City Hall plaza, live music performances, figure skating demonstrations, immersive light installations, roving circus acts, bonfires, on-site food trucks, and more!
December 31, 2022 | Why stand out in the cold when you can hit the beach that is 31 tropical degrees every day of the year?!? Ring in 2023 at a family-friendly New Year’s event at West Edmonton Mall’s World Waterpark. Enjoy swimming, sliding, and character appearances – and stay for the indoor fireworks at midnight!
December 31, 2022 | Bundle up and stake out your spot early to enjoy the New Year’s Eve Fireworks display in St. Albert’s Mission Park! Catch the show from 8:30 – 8:40 pm. Don’t forget to plan for parking restrictions!
December 31, 2022 | Prepare to ring in the New Year with Strathcona County with an afternoon of family-friendly events and a spectacular fireworks display over Broadmoor Park! Enjoy crafts and aerial performances at Festival Place, hockey and skating at the Sherwood Park Arena & Sports Centre, and fire dancers, snowshoeing, smores and more in Broadmoor Park.
December 31, 2022 | Bring the whole family to Heritage Park in Stony Plain to ring in the New Year! Enjoy skating, horse-drawn wagon rides, a BBQ dinner, live DJ and dance, and early fireworks at 9:00 pm.
December 31, 2022 | The Woodcroft Community League will be setting off their fireworks display at 9 pm on New Year’s Eve. Come early to enjoy a bit of skating or cross country skiing before the big show!
December 31, 2022 | Celebrate New Year’s Eve with an epic celebration in ICE District Plaza as part of the Winter SolstICE event! There will be an Edmonton Oilers tailgate and watch party at 6:00 pm, followed by a party and concert headlined by Alberta’s own country music legend Brett Kissel, and a countdown and pyrotechnic display at midnight!
December 31, 2022 | Get a jump on celebrating the New Year during a family-friendly Countdown party at the Muttart Conservatory! Come enjoy a caricature artist, air brush tattoos, a scavenger hunt and sensory activities from 10 am to noon, followed by a planting activity and tours of the pyramids in the afternoon.
December 31, 2022 | Jump into 2023 at Launchpad Trampoline Park! Get together with friends and family and enjoy an evening of neon jumping, music, and extreme family fun! There will be countdowns at 6 pm and 8 pm so the entire family can ring in the New Year together and the kids won’t feel like they are missing out on any of the late-night fun.
December 31, 2022 & January 1, 2023 | Midnight is late. Noon is much more reasonable! Celebrate with a bang at the TELUS World of Science Edmonton. They have special activities and demonstrations all day long. Bonus – the celebration continues on New Year’s Day!
New Year’s Day Celebrations
January 1, 2022 | During this special event Edmonton Oil Kings hockey game they will be facing off against the Lethbridge Hurricanes at 2:00 pm, with Fireworks to follow right inside Roger’s Place! Add to the fun by booking tickets for the Snow Maze or taking a skate on the ICE District rink.
January 1, 2022 | Bundle up and enjoy skating, tobogganing and fun on the playground before seeing the fireworks at sunset. For more information, click here.
January 1, 2023 | Grab your toque, mitts and a mug and ring in 2022 with New Years Day at Strathcona Wilderness Centre! Enjoy snowshoeing and cross country skiing, take a toonie ski lesson or take part in the toonie snowshoe ramble, warm up by the fire, and sample some tasty treats and hot chocolate!
