Family Friendly New Year’s Eve

Noon Year’s Eve with TELUS World of Science – Edmonton
December 31 & January 1 | Midnight is late. Noon is much more reasonable! Ring in the “NOON” year with TELUS World of Science – Edmonton. Enjoy live science experiments on the Syncrude Science Stage at noon, including the Science Centre’s unique version of fireworks.  (Hint: it involves 12 colorful hydrogen balloons!) Included with your regular Science Centre admission.

2025 Kickoff Celebration at the Muttart Conservatory
December 31 | Get a jump on celebrating the New Year during a family-friendly countdown party at the Muttart Conservatory! The 2025 Kickoff Celebration will include face painting, airbrush tattoos, a hula hoop circus workshop, and more.

World Waterpark Family Beach Ball at WEM
December 31 | Why stand out in the cold when you can hit the beach that is 31 tropical degrees every day of the year?!? Ring in 2025 at a family-friendly New Year’s event at West Edmonton Mall’s World Waterpark. Enjoy swimming, sliding, and character appearances – and stay for the indoor fireworks at midnight!

Kid’s New Year Party at LaunchPad
December 31 | Jump into 2025 at Launchpad Trampoline Park! Get together with friends and family and enjoy an evening of neon jumping, music with a live DJ, and extreme family fun! There will be countdowns at 6:00 pm and 8:00 pm so the entire family can ring in the New Year together and the kids won’t feel like they are missing out on any of the late-night fun.

New Year’s Eve Downtown Festival & Fireworks
December 31 |The City of Edmonton New Year’s Eve celebration is one of the best ways to ring in 2025! Enjoy your choice of two firework displays at 8 pm and midnight, plus a full evening of programming including skating at City Hall plaza, live music, immersive light installations, roving circus acts, bonfires, maple taffy, on-site food trucks, and more. PLUS warm up with more free activities happening in the arts district and along Rice Howard Way including a showing of The Princess Bride at the Stanley A. Milner Library, free crafting fun and live music at the Art Gallery of Alberta, a Family DJ Dance Party at the Citadel Theatre, and interactive percussion play at the Winspear Centre.

GLOW Edmonton End of Eras NYE Bash
December 31 | Don’t miss the last chance to see Glow Edmonton and rock-out with a special Swiftie-inspired celebration! Take a spin on the LED dance floor while your favourite Taylor Swift hits play, make a FREE friendship bracelet, take home a free holiday poinsettia and join in the magical New Year’s Eras countdown! PLUS the Sea of Sparkle Mermaid event is still on with special Mermaid Princess stage shows.

New Year’s Eve Celebration in ICE District
December 31 | Celebrate New Year’s Eve with another epic celebration in ICE District Plaza, headlined by Canadian country music star Jade Eagleson! It all kicks off at 9:00 pm with a concert including Dawson Gray, giant countdown screens, and a fireworks display at midnight! The event is free, but space will be limited.

New Year’s Eve Fireworks in St. Albert
December 31 | Bundle up and stake out your spot early to enjoy the New Year’s Eve Fireworks display in St. Albert’s Mission Park! Catch the show at 8:30 pm. Don’t forget to plan for parking restrictions!

Family Fest New Year’s Eve Celebration in Stony Plain
December 31 | Bring the whole family to Heritage Park in Stony Plain to ring in the New Year! Enjoy skating, horse-drawn wagon rides, a BBQ dinner, live DJ and dance, and early fireworks at 9:00 pm.

Strathcona County New Year‘s Eve Festival
December 31 | Prepare to ring in the New Year with Strathcona County with an afternoon of family-friendly events and a spectacular fireworks display over Broadmoor Park! Enjoy crafts and aerial performances at Festival Place, hockey and skating at the Sherwood Park Arena & Sports Centre, and fire dancers, snowshoeing, smores and more in Broadmoor Park.

Community League Celebrations with Fireworks

  • New Year’s Eve Fireworks in Woodcroft
    December 31 | The Woodcroft Community League invites you to ring in the New Year’s with a potluck, games, skating, and fireworks. Come enjoy skating anytime during the day or evening, and then be at the Woodcroft Community League at 9:oo pm to welcome in 2025 with a dazzling fireworks display! (Registration required for the potluck.)
  • New Year’s Eve with Baturyn Community League
    December 31 | Members of the Baturyn community are invited to skating on the outdoor rink (12 pm – 8 pm), a toonie movie (5:30 pm), loonie concession, and outdoor fireworks show at 8:00 pm.
  • Edmonton Southwood Community League NYE Fireworks
    December 31 | Members of the Southwood Community are invited for hot chocolate & glowsticks at 7:30 pm and an amazing fireworks show at 8:00 pm.

Edmonton Oil Kings New Years Day Fireworks Frenzy 
January 1 | Cheer on the Oil Kings as they face off against the Calgary Hitmen during this special New Year’s game! Enjoy all the usual hockey-fueled fun, PLUS an incredible indoor fireworks display that will be set off at centre ice immediately following the game.

Glastonbury Community League New Year’s Day Celebration
January 1 | Can’t get enough of the New Year’s Eve fireworks? Find more on Wednesday, January 1 at the Glastonbury Community League New Year’s Day Celebration. Bundle up and head to the Glastonbury Community League at 3 pm to enjoy a skate on the beautiful rink, plus music, hot chocolate and food trucks, then cheer on the Push/Pull Sled Race at 4 pm and enjoy the spectacular fireworks display at 5:45 pm!
