Winter Wonderland Fireworks at Obsidian Ridge
December 27 – 31|
Celebrate the new year with the Winter Wonderland Festival at Obsidian Ridge! Enjoy five days of sparkling light displays, ice skating, sledding, a holiday market with festive treats, and rides on the Polar Express! The festival wraps up with a magnificent fireworks show on New Year’s Eve.

Noon Year’s Eve with TELUS World of Science – Edmonton
December 31 & January 1 | Midnight is late. Noon is much more reasonable! Ring in the “NOON” year with TELUS World of Science – Edmonton. Enjoy live science experiments on the Syncrude Science Stage at noon, including the Science Centre’s unique version of fireworks.  (Hint: it involves 12 colourful hydrogen balloons!) Included with your regular Science Centre admission.

New Year’s Bloom at the Muttart Conservatory
December 31 | Get a jump on celebrating the New Year during a family-friendly New Year’s Bloom party at Muttart Conservatory! The celebration will include sensory play, airbrush tattoos, a craft corner, a live performance by Beppie, and more.

World Waterpark Family Beach Ball at WEM
December 31 | Why stand out in the cold when you can hit the beach that is 31 tropical degrees every day of the year?!? Ring in 2026 at a family-friendly New Year’s event at West Edmonton Mall’s World Waterpark. Enjoy swimming, sliding, and character appearances – and stay for the indoor fireworks at midnight!

Kid’s New Year Party at LaunchPad
December 31 | Jump into the New Year at Launchpad Trampoline Park! Enjoy an unforgettable experience illuminated by black lights, live DJ music, and family fun! There will be countdowns at 6:00 pm and 8:00 pm so the entire family can ring in the New Year together, and the kids won’t feel like they are missing out on any of the late-night fun.

New Year’s Eve Downtown Festival & Fireworks
December 31 | The City of Edmonton New Year’s Eve celebration is one of the best ways to ring in 2026! Enjoy your choice of two firework displays at 8 pm and midnight, plus a full evening of programming including skating at City Hall plaza, live music, immersive light installations, roving entertainment, bonfires, maple taffy, on-site food trucks, and more.

GLOW Edmonton Family NYE Party
December 31 | This is your last chance to visit Glow Edmonton and celebrate the new year with music, dancing, and family fun alongside your favourite fairytale princesses. Enjoy An Enchanted Christmas Tale, play Bibbidi-Bobbidi-Bingo for the chance to win some fantastic prizes, and countdown to the New Year with a dance party.

New Year’s Eve Celebration in ICE District
December 31 | Ring in the New Year at ICE District Plaza with an epic celebration! The evening kicks off at 6:00 pm with an Edmonton Oilers game-day watch party and tailgate, including food trucks and prizes. Afterward, enjoy a concert with Owen Riegling and DJ Vavo, watch the countdown on giant screens, and see fireworks at midnight. Admission is free, but space is limited.

New Year’s Eve at The Citadel Theatre
December 31 | Welcome 2026 with a family-friendly New Year’s Eve celebration at The Citadel Theatre. Enjoy a Family DJ Dance Party, Wizard of Oz themed balloon art and crafts, face painting, free cookies and glowsticks, PLUS an indoor viewing of the fireworks!

New Year’s Eve Fireworks in St. Albert
December 31 | You don’t have to wait until midnight to celebrate the new year – enjoy an early New Year’s Eve fireworks show in St. Albert! The display will begin at 8:30 pm at the Meadowview Ball Diamonds. While the park will be closed to the public, you can find recommended viewing spots on the City of St. Albert website.

Family Fest New Year’s Eve Celebration in Stony Plain
December 31 | Stony Plain will be ringing in 2026 with their annual Family Fest New Year’s Eve celebration in Heritage Park! Enjoy a BBQ dinner, live DJ and dance, outdoor skating, photo booth, horse-drawn wagon rides, face painting, bonfires, followed by fireworks at 9:00 pm.

Strathcona County New Year‘s Eve Festival
December 31 | Prepare to ring in the New Year in Strathcona County with an evening of family-friendly events and a spectacular fireworks display over Broadmoor Park. Enjoy shinny hockey and skating, aerial performances, fire dancers, ice sculptures, snowshoeing, cabane à sucre, s’mores, hot drinks, an indoor lego display, and more!

Community League Celebrations with Fireworks

  • New Year’s Eve Fireworks in Woodcroft
    December 31 | Join the Woodcroft Community League for New Year’s Eve fireworks and a cozy fireside celebration with hot dogs, marshmallows, and warm drinks. No registration is needed.
  • Edmonton Southwood Community League NYE Fireworks
    December 31 | Join Southwood Community League for a New Year’s Eve Fireworks display! This free community event offers hot cocoa and an early fireworks show, perfect for families who don’t want to stay out late. Parking is limited, so be sure to arrive early to secure your spot.

January 1 | Cheer on the Oil Kings as they face off against the Red Deer Rebels during this special New Year’s Day game! Enjoy all the usual game day fun, PLUS an incredible indoor fireworks display that will be set off at centre ice immediately following the game.

Glastonbury Community League New Year’s Day Celebration
January 1 | Can’t get enough of the New Year’s Eve fireworks? Find more at the Glastonbury Community League New Year’s Day Celebration. Bundle up and head to the Glastonbury Community League at 3 pm to enjoy a skate on the beautiful rink, plus music, hot chocolate, and food trucks. At 4 pm, watch the Push/Pull Sled Race, and at 5:45 pm, enjoy another fantastic fireworks show!
