Family Day is back with a bang this year! As restrictions have eased, organizers are celebrating by hosting Family Day activities all across Metro Vancouver. Our favourite holiday of the calendar year is celebrated on February 21st this year (but the family-friendly events happen all weekend long). Enjoy the holiday, grab the kids, and go make memories as a family there are oodles of events to pick from over the February 19-21 weekend.

Abbotsford:

The recreation centres in Abbotsford are hosting tons of FREE family entertainment on Family Day (Feb 21). Visit the Abbotsford Recreation Centre for inflatable fun, and loads of gym sports. The Mastqui Recreation Centre is inviting families to skate for FREE during the afternoon.


Britannia Beach:

The Britannia Mine Museum is offering 50% off admission for anyone visiting over the Family Day long weekend.


Burnaby:

Check out the Family Day Toonie Skates happening in two locations on Feb 21. Admission is just $2 and that INCLUDES the skate rental.

Enjoy a scavenger hunt, Tsumami Zaiku workshop, cookie decorating, and more when you spend Family Day at the Nikkei Centre.


Coquitlam:

Metro Vancouver Regional Parks is inviting families to spend Family Day strolling through nature. Once Upon a Nature Trail is a self-guided tour happening in Minnekhada regional Park on Saturday.


Delta:

The City of Delta is encouraging families to exercise together on Family Day with skating sessions happening at a number of venues.

Langley:

The City of Langley is inviting families to book an hour of FREE gym time on Feb 19. Sports equipment will be provided. Families can run, jump, play, and be silly together in celebration of Family Day.


Mission:

Spend your BC Family day at the Mission Leisure Centre! Discount admission to the pool, arena and weight room. $2 adults/seniors and $1 children/youth. Celebrate BC Family Day with a variety of free activities to choose from in our gymnasium and sports courts.


North Vancouver:

Grouse Mountain is offering 50% off the cost of ski and sled rentals for Family Day.


Port Coquitlam:

Family Day in Port Coquitlam means skating and swimming. Don’t forget to pre-register for the skating sessions.


Richmond:

The City of Richmond is running more than 40 Family Day events this year! Scavenger hunts, movie showings, gardening, building birdhouses, and more! Be make sure to pay attention to whether any events require you to register in advance.

This Family Day, the Richmond Children’s Arts Festival will spark creativity with FREE kid-friendly events & programs at the Richmond Cultural Centre.


Surrey:

The City of Surrey has put together a list of Family Day events you can enjoy with those in your immediate family. Outdoor activities, indoor sports, virtual, planned and explore-on-your-own… there’s something for everyone.

Visit Historic Stewart Farm for FREE over the Family Day weekend. Take part in a tour, have fun during a scavenger hunt, between 12-4:30 Saturday – Monday.


Vancouver:

The Vancouver Aquarium is offering FREE admission for one child for every regularly priced ticket. This great deal runs from February 11-21.

Visit VanDusen Botanical Gardens during Family Day long weekend and receive a child ticket for free with the purchase of any adult, senior, or youth admission ticket. The deal runs Feb 18-21.

The 5th annual Kids Take Over UBC! returns for Family Day Weekend 2022. Details are starting to trickle out. This year it seems to be a one-day event on February 20.

Who doesn’t love a campfire? Visit Pacific Spirit Regional Park for storytelling and fun activities at Metro Vancouver Regional Park’s Family Day Campfire. Don’t forget to bring your own marshmallows to roast.

Admission is FREE for kids aged 12 and under at the Vancouver Art Gallery on Family Day. The first 100 families to visit also receive a special Art Detective Bag.
