A whole day dedicated to celebrating our families? We’ll take it! Family Day is celebrated on February 20th this year, but family-friendly activities are happening all weekend long. Enjoy the holiday, grab the kids, and go make memories as a family there are oodles of events to pick from over the February 18-20th weekend.

Family Day at Steveston Tram| Feb. 17-20| Admission is FREE at Steveston Tram this weekend. Explore the interactive displays, including a light-up map that traces the routes of the historic Interurban tram.

Family Day at The Shipyards|Feb. 18-20| Head to The Shipyards for an array of family programming all weekend long. With food trucks, live music, skating performances, and family crafts, there is so much to enjoy!

Nikkei National Museum & Cultural Centre| Feb 18| This is a free event with various family-friendly activities, including Japanese storytelling and crafts.

Baby Rave|Feb. 20|Dance the day away at a family-friendly dance event with a live DJ!

Black History Month Family Day | Feb. 18| Celebrate the dynamic and varied cultures of the African diaspora with singing, dancing, crafts and amazing music at this Family Day event.

VCT Family Day Open House| Feb. 18| Head to Queen Elizabeth Theatre for a Family Day pop up! Explore the artwork of Sylvan Hamburger, listen to live classical music and participate in family-friendly crafts.

Family Services of Greater Vancouver Pop-Up| Feb. 18| This Family Day, learn about some of the resources available to assist families by heading to New Westminster Public Library for a pop-up workshop. Children can make a paper dolls to show the people in their families that they are grateful for.

Family Fun on the Fraser River| Feb. 18-20| Learn about the biodiversity of the Fraser River with stories, crafts, and self-guided activities throughout the building. Free admission on Feb. 20th.

Family Day Story Time| Feb. 20|Celebrate Family Day at the Coquitlam Public Library with a special story, followed by fun activities.

Family Flame Storytelling| Feb. 20| If you have a story to tell or want to hear the stories of others, then this is the event for you. The stories have to be true, must be about you, and need to be told in under 1 minute. This event takes place following the Baby Rave, if you’re looking for activities that are back-t0-back!

Family Day in Langley| Feb. 18-20|The City of Langley is hosting family-friendly activities all weekend long. Families can run, jump, play, and be silly together in celebration of Family Day.

Fort Langley National Historic Site|Feb. 20| is offering ocean and river-themed activities throughout the day. Learn about the site’s connection to salmon and killer whales with guests from the Gulf of Georgia Cannery National Historic Site.

Family Day at The Chinatown Storytelling Centre|Feb. 17-20|  Enjoy 50% off admission and walk back in time, immersing yourself in the culture of Chinese Canadiens who helped shape Canada.

Vitaly- Art of Wonder| Feb. 20| at the ACT in Maple Ridge for a family-friendly art installation.

Family Day in Richmond |Feb. 17-20| The City of Richmond is running more than 40 Family Day events this year! Scavenger hunts, movie showings, gardening, building birdhouses, and more! Be make sure to pay attention to whether any events require you to register in advance.

Richmond Children’s Arts Festival| Feb. 20|will spark creativity with FREE kid-friendly events & programs at the Richmond Cultural Centre.

Family Day in Surrey | Feb.18-20| The City of Surrey has put together a list of Family Day events you can enjoy with those in your immediate family. Outdoor activities, indoor sports, virtual, planned and explore-on-your-own… there’s something for everyone.

Historic Stewart Farm | Feb. 18-20| Visit Historic Stewart Farm for FREE over the Family Day weekend. Take part in a tour, have fun during a scavenger hunt, between 12-4:30 Saturday – Monday.

Family Felting Workshop|Feb. 18| Learn how to felt a plant or animal using needle felting techniques. Adults and children will work together to learn more about their plant or animal and develop their creations.

Family Day at MOV| Feb. 20| is a fun, FREE activity you won’t want to miss! Explore the exhibitions, and register for scheduled programming with local storytellers.

Kids Take Over UBC!| Feb. 19| returns for Family Day Weekend 2023. Many of the faculties from UBC are hosting activities specifically for kids, like sports activities, arts and crafts, and science experiments. Check back for more details as they are released.

Family Day Campfire| Feb. 20|Who doesn’t love a campfire? Visit Belcarra Regional Park or Pacific Spirit Regional Park for storytelling and fun activities. Don’t forget to bring your own marshmallows to roast!

Family Day Toonie Skate| Feb. 20|Head to Kensington Sports Complex for some physical activity as a family!

Robson Ice Rink|Until Feb. 28| Grab your family for a nice outdoor skate at one of Vancouver’s most popular skating rinks.

Vancouver Fan Expo|Feb. 18-20| Nothing says “family” like celebrating your favourite genres.  From exclusive, celebrity Q&A’s to cosplay battles, to indoor snowball fights in The Family Zone, this is the place to be!

Storytime at the Vancouver Maritime Museum| Feb. 18| Join the VMM each Saturday for a different story and activity.

Beyond Van Gogh: The Immersive Experience|until May 5| Experience the life and art of Vincent Van Gogh like never before in a fully immersive experience. This is a great Family Day activity for the art aficionados in your family!
