With friends, team tryouts, report cards, and countless other examples, parents are always helping their kids navigate emotions and express them in appropriate ways. If you have kids, you have drama. But this summer, it’s time to lean in and add some positive drama with Calgary Young People’s Theatre summer camps!

Calgary Young People’s Theatre (CYPT) was created with the desire to inspire and develop young people in the arts by offering a safe, creative space. Through their classes, camps, workshops, and production opportunities, kids and youth can explore the creative arts, learn to express themselves, and develop their potential.

Summer Camps

The excellent camps at CYPT are led by professional theatre actors, directors, and playwrights. These camps are perfect for kids and teens ages 4 – 18 who want to dive into drama, express themselves, and showcase their creativity. No experience is necessary and your kids will learn how to act, improvise, create a play, and more. Wherever their creative interests lie, it promises to be a fabulous summer!

With locations in Calgary’s NW, SW, and SE, CYPT offers half-day, full-day, and two-week camps. Days are filled with learning various dramatic skills like acting, improvisation, and stage combat, plus learning how to create a play. Each week normally concludes with a fun performance. Check the website to see what camps Calgary Young People’s Theatre summer camps are offered near you.
