What is a polyglot? It’s someone who can speak many languages. Of course, those who can speak multiple languages have a distinct advantage in today’s multicultural, cosmopolitan world! Childhood is the perfect time to be exposed to new languages, as they learn so quickly through play and daily life. Polyglots was started by a teacher who observed how quickly children absorbed a new skill through the simple routines of their day and having fun. Using immersive activities that kids love, like games, gym, crafts, drama, building, and more, children have the opportunity to learn while they play by interacting with a caring adult who speaks the language they’re immersed in. Learning a second language is enormously advantageous. Studies show that it boosts cognitive skills, such as memory, problem-solving, and creativity, and provides a world of enriching opportunities.

Polyglots summer camps are exactly what you’re looking for! They offer programs in French and Spanish for kids ages 5 – 11 years. It’s a unique opportunity to be immersed in Spanish, as that’s not always available in our country! These camps are available in full or half days, at multiple locations around Calgary.
Your kids will have so much fun in a Polyglots summer camp that they won’t even know they’re learning! Every week there will be a different theme. Kids will “travel” around the world, learning about different countries, cultures, and traditions while they play. Activities will include building things, doing science experiments, playing outside, and creating arts and crafts. As they play and move through their day, they learn Spanish or French words and phrases.
