Hey, Calgary! You still have time to squeeze in one final family adventure this summer with RBC Race for the Kids, which returns to Heritage Park on September 10, 2023. Families of all ages are invited to come out for some active fun in support of a great cause with the Alberta Children’s Hospital Foundation.
RBC Race for the Kids is celebrating its seventh year as Calgary’s biggest family-friendly walk/run that supports the Alberta Children’s Hospital Foundation as they fund child mental health programs and services. Participants can go the distance and set up personal fundraising so they can reach out to family and friends who can cheer them on with a donation.
The cost of the race is just $35 for adults and $25 for youth aged 3 – 17. Children two and under are free. Participants receive an RBC Race for the Kids T-shirt, breakfast, free parking, and all-day access to Heritage Park. The day begins with a scenic morning run or walk near the Glenmore Reservoir and wraps up with a pancake breakfast and more fun inside Heritage Park. It’s a perfect way to support youth and be outside with the family, enjoying the changing colours of the season.
As a family-friendly run, RBC Race for the Kids is designed for everyone. Start times are staggered and families with small kids and strollers can even choose to do their own shorter route within the park. The Race coincides with Railway Days at Heritage Park, which means a train-load of fun activities for rail lovers young and old. Face painters will also be on-site, and there will be refreshments before, during, and after the race.
For those outside of the city, or if you’d like to make RBC Race for the Kids your own, a virtual participation option is also available. You can walk or run where you choose and still fundraise for child mental health!
