Posted on: December 7, 2013

Last year we took our boys, for the first time, to Christmas with the Vancouver Bach Choir.  We had such a wonderful time I was most eager to return in 2013.  What a wonderful treat!  From little ones to adults, a multitude of performers took to the stage and awed

The Vancouver Christmas Market is an essential “must-do” in our lead up to Christmas.  Only in its fourth year, the Vancouver Christmas Market is wonderfully festive, dripping with atmosphere, and spilling over with yummy smells and delicatable eats.  If you haven’t been you are missing out! We visited the Christmas

Mesmerizing Disney on Ice

Posted on: November 27, 2013

This year’s Disney On Ice is Rockin Ever After….and rockin it certainly is!  Mickey, Minnie, Donald and Goofy are entertaining hosts of the show.  They are as loveable as always and provide an entertaining transition from one performance to the next. The first skating extravaganza is The Little Mermaid.  By

Posted on: November 16, 2013

If you are looking for a true musical treat, go see the ArtsClub production of Mary Poppins.  If an audience leaping to its feet for a standing ovation – at a matinee performance – isn’t enough of an endorsement, let me convince you that you don’t want to miss this

Touch Wood at VanDusen Botanical Garden

Posted on: September 1, 2013

Through the months of August and September VanDusen Garden has a spectacular display of wooden art installations placed throughout the grounds.  The Touch Wood exhibit is not to be missed.  While visiting VanDusen Gardens is worth the trip, just for the gardens themselves, the current art installation is astoundingly beautiful.

Family Travel: Seattle Day 1

Posted on: June 25, 2013

This year, for Father’s Day weekend, we took a trip down to Seattle. Three and a half years ago, when our eldest just turned one, we attempted the same trip.  To say it was a disaster would be an understatement. Imagine a baby screaming for the entire 2.5 hour drive,

This morning we made our annual pilgrimage to the Othello Tunnels (located just passed Hope).  I get to say annual because this is our second year making the trip.  We went for the first time last year and were so impressed we made the commitment to visit yearly. If you

Magical Kids’ Fest – The Vancouver International Children’s Festival

Posted on: June 4, 2013

This review is from 2013. Please visit the current Vancouver International Children’s Festival article on Family Fun Vancouver for updated information. I have incredibly fond memories of the Vancouver International Children’s Festival from my childhood.  During university I attended a show; I felt like a fraud being there without kids.
