Pumphouse Theatre Summer Camps: Embrace Your Drama!

From school to sports and friends to family, life with kids delivers all kinds of drama. That’s okay! Summer camps at Pumphouse Theatre give you a chance to embrace that drama. Even better, these summer drama day camps give your kids an outlet — it’s a place to be themselves as they develop and shine. At Pumphouse Theatre, it’s about enjoying the arts, making new friends, and finding a place to thrive. If you have a young dramatist in your house, it’s time to get on stage!

Pumphouse Theatre has provided Calgarians with an affordable place to enjoy the creative arts since the early 1970s. Beyond theatre productions, they also offer a drama education program and drama day camps. These camps offer a variety of skills for any child. It’s about learning how to communicate and how to express yourself. But it’s also about developing confidence and poise. These camps help kids think outside the box. They nurture imagination and promote self-discipline and critical thinking skills.

Summer Camps

Summer camps at Pumphouse Theatre are offered weekly through July and August for kids aged 7 – 14 years. Campers build confidence through this introduction to the dramatic arts, while having fun with like-minded kids. Each camp is divided into classes covering a variety of acting techniques, speech, physical theatre play creation, and more. Kids will work together under professional instructors, developing social and life skills.

Within their age group, campers will create a play, and at the end of each session, you’ll get to watch them perform their creation and showcase their new talents! Final performances are on Friday afternoons of the camp week. Campers will also receive an official camp t-shirt and a digital copy of their performance.

Registration is now open, but there is limited availability, so don’t delay! Early bird registrations (before May 30, 2026) and multiple registrations per family will receive a $50 discount. The camps run from 9 AM – 4:30 PM, but complimentary pre-care and post-care begin at 8 AM and end at 5:30 PM.
