That Christmas glow starts at ZOOLIGHTS this holiday! For many Calgarians, this magical season is not complete without a visit to ZOOLIGHTS, which returns to the Calgary Zoo to light up the night between November 23, 2018, and January 5, 2019. With 1.5 million lights transforming the Calgary Zoo grounds into a magical winter wonderland, including over 200 light figurines and a variety of interactive and choreographed light displays, ZOOLIGHTS shines. Lions Festival of Lights (Family Fun Calgary)

Lions’ Festival of Lights

The Lions’ Festival of Lights is the largest free drive-by Christmas lights showcase in Calgary. For three decades (this is the 31st anniversary!), Calgarians have enjoyed this spectacular light display at the SE corner of Confederation Park. The display features over 300, 000 lights (99% LED) to get you into the holiday spirit. Airdrie Festival of Lights (Family Fun Canada)

Airdrie Festival of Lights

Head out to Airdrie for the city’s annual festival of lights from December 1st to 31st. The event features beautiful Christmas lights, miniature train rides, hot chocolate, bonfires, and much more. Santa will visit on selected dates and there will be other special events, too. Christmas Lights at Spruce Meadows

Once the Spruce Meadows International Christmas Market wraps up for the year, you may think there’s no more reason to visit Spruce Meadows this season. Wrong! Bring the whole family between December 9, 2018, and January 6, 2019, for their amazing Christmas light display. Don’t worry if it’s really cold out, or the kids are getting a little drowsy, as you will stay in your vehicle for the 2 km drive through the Spruce Meadows grounds. The grounds are beautifully decked out with a quarter of a million sparkling holiday lights. It’s truly magical and completely free. Read more about it here.


Legacy Christmas Light Parade

Legacy’s 4th annual Christmas Light Parade is back! With over 120,000 lights, Legacy will be lit up for all of December with lights for you and your family to enjoy. It is free for anyone to come and drive through the community or come out and walk through the tunnels of lights. The public parks, as well as over 20 Show Homes in the community, have been decorated for Christmas! Come out and enjoy the many lights and displays and join the Legacy.

Mahogany Parade of Lights and Light Up Mahogany Display

Come and join Mahogany for the second annual Parade of Lights on December 8, 2018! The parade will start at Divine Mercy Catholic Elementary and end on Masters Boulevard. Santa Claus and Mrs Claus will lead the parade which will also include local groups and businesses, as well as some other special surprise guests. The Calgary Skip Squad will be there, too! When it’s done, enjoy the lights of the community.

Cochrane Light Up Parade of Lights

Cochrane Light Up is proud to bring the first annual Parade of Lights to Cochrane, AB on December 8, 2018! Bring the family for an evening of amazing floats, and free family fun for the entire town! They will have face painting and special guests for all spectators to enjoy!

Rotary Festival of Trees in Canmore

Festival of Trees is a magical event happening throughout the month of December for the whole family. Imagine over 50 Christmas trees decorated and twinkling all in one place, all created and donated by local businesses. There will be lots of events and activities happening: voting for your favourite decorated tree, raffle items, social gatherings, kids crafts…is there a better way to kick off the Holiday Season in the mountains?!

We have a beautiful downtown, and the office towers definitely do it up right with lots of lights! Head downtown and go for a wander. Don’t miss Stephen Avenue, Olympic Plaza, the McDougall Centre and CORE’s 45-foot-tall Christmas tree!

The Dancing Trees: 12,000 lights synchronized to music. There are lots of custom-made displays including a nativity scene, holiday train, dancing trees, and Santa on the roof.

Merry Christmas from the Elias’. Press the button to watch the lights sync up to the music. Press it again to see a second song. Lights are on from 5 pm to 11 pm. Please place food donations for the Veterans food bank in Snoopy’s’ Dog house. Tech geek details: there are over 100 channels with a 350-pixel megastar, all synced to 2 different songs.

Display 2018 will be running every day from around 5 pm – 10 pm. 25,000 lights and 18 inflatables; most of the lights are music controlled. Come and enjoy the spirit of Christmas. They are accepting donations for the Calgary Food Bank. There is a box outside where you can leave your food items.
