Your kids can go on an action-packed adventure (and still be home in time for dinner) with City of Calgary Nature Camps! Send your kids out to explore and get to know nature right in our own city. The City of Calgary’s nature camps connect children with the natural world through hands-on activities and outdoor play. Guided by experienced educators, campers will explore bugs, birds, plants and animals while gaining a better understanding of nature and their place within it. There are two locations for the camps: the Inglewood Bird Sanctuary and Ralph Klein Park. If you need childcare, don’t worry because the City of Calgary has you covered. Pre-camp care is available from 7:30 – 9 a.m. and post-camp care is available from 4 – 5:30 p.m. Childcare is an additional $25 per week per time slot, and pre-registration is required. So, which adventure would your kids like to go on?

Growing Wild (4-5 years)
Let your preschooler run wild during this week of half-day adventures. Campers will learn about the life cycles of bugs, birds, plants and animals, and will explore the great outdoors as one of nature’s wild things. Activities will include guided walks, nature games and arts and crafts. Pre-camp care is available for the morning session and post-camp care is available for the afternoon session. Wild for Wetlands (6-9 years)
Pull on your boots and explore the wonderful world of wetlands. Campers will discover the secrets of marsh life and learn how plants, insects and animals contribute to a healthy wetland. Activities will include daily outdoor expeditions, pond studies, stories and arts and crafts. This camp includes a field trip to another park or site. Pre- and post-camp care is available. Location: Inglewood Bird Sanctuary and Ralph Klein Park

Winged Wonders (6-9 years)
Learn about the amazing animals that soar, glide and flutter through our skies. Campers will explore the wonders of flight and learn about fantastic flyers in the natural world. Activities will include daily guided walks, aerodynamic crafts and outdoor explorations. This camp includes a field trip to another park or site. Pre- and post-camp care is available.

Raptors Delight (10-12 years)
Soar with us on this unbelievable week of discovery! Campers will observe eagles, hawks and falcons, learn about their migratory journeys and find out how these stealthy predators hunt. Daily activities will include nature games, outdoor explorations and in-depth investigations of local raptor species. This camp includes a field trip to another park or site. Pre-camp and post-camp care is available. Location: Inglewood Bird Sanctuary
