Does your child love science, technology, art and airplanes? This July and August The Hangar Flight Museum will offer three unique summer camps for kids aged 5-11 years old, based on the museum’s most popular school programs. They will give kids an up-close look at the museum’s fantastic collection, as well as a hands-on approach to learning about the dynamics of flight. If your kids are crazy about planes, these summer camps are perfect for them!

The Hangar Flight Museum, located in NE Calgary near the Calgary International Airport, is home to many historically significant and technologically intriguing aircraft, plus exhibits, information and stories relating to human flight. Children with flight aspirations will love spending time in this former WWII BCATP training hangar exploring and learning.

 

Little Aviators – Kindergarten & Grade One

Our youngest flight enthusiasts explore the wonders of a big, blue sky and the things that fly in it! Campers will probe everything from airplanes to stars with hands-on activities and crafts. These camps are four half-days, designed especially for younger children going into kindergarten and grade 1. You may register your child for either the morning session or the afternoon session.

Up, Up, and Away – Grade Two & Three

These full day camps are designed for children going into grades 2 and 3, running from 9:30am-3:30pm. Campers will take flight this summer while learning about all things that fly. This camp is full of hands-on activities like building parachutes, kites, and other things that go up, up, and away!

Sky Science – Grade Four & Five

Keep your eyes on the sky during this camp as children learn all about different aspects of the sky above us. Campers will explore the night sky by looking at stars and constellations, experiment with flight by designing gliders, and even discover why the sky is blue! These camps are designed for children going into grades 4 and 5. The camps also run from 9:30am until 3:30pm.

Before care (8-9:15 am) and Aftercare (3:45-5 pm) are available for an additional fee. Your child’s dreams, imagination and understanding of science, technology and history can all take flight!
