Pumphouse Theatre Summer Camps: Embrace Your Drama!

We get it — life with kids can be pretty dramatic. Just embrace that drama with summer camps from Pumphouse Theatre! If you have a young dramatist in your house, they will love a chance to get on stage. At Pumphouse Theatre, it’s about enjoying the arts, making new friends, and finding a place to thrive.

Pumphouse Theatre has provided Calgarians with an affordable place to enjoy the creative arts since the early 1970s. Beyond theatre productions, they also offer a drama education program and drama day camps. These camps offer a variety of skills for any child. It’s about learning how to communicate and how to express yourself. But it’s also about developing confidence and poise. These camps help kids think outside the box. They nurture imagination and promote self-discipline and critical thinking skills.

Summer Camps

Summer camps at Pumphouse Theatre are offered weekly through July and August for kids ages 7 – 14 years. Participants gain confidence through this introduction to the dramatic arts, while they have fun with like-minded kids. Each camp is divided into classes covering a variety of acting techniques, speech, physical theatre play creation, and more. Kids will work together under professional instructors, developing social and life skills.

With their age group, they will create a play and at the end of each session, you’ll get to watch them perform their creation and showcase their new talents! Final performances are on Friday afternoons of the camp week. Campers will also receive an official camp t-shirt and a digital copy of their performance.

Registration is now open, but there is limited availability, so don’t delay! Early bird registrations (before May 30, 2025) and multiple registrations per family will receive a $50 discount. The camps run from 9 AM – 4:30 PM, but pre-care and post-care are included in registration, beginning at 8 AM and ending at 5:30 PM.
