Why is the Calgary Stampede so great for kids? Keep reading to find out! We’re posting the best family fun at the Calgary Stampede!

You’ve got your midway rides and games, the rodeo and chuckwagons, the Grandstand Show and nightly fireworks, any type of carnival food your heart desires (including some ridiculous, amazing, and delicious new treats every year), and animals galore! What else could a kid want? During the 10 days of Stampede (July 3 – 12, 2026), there are performances, entertainers, and exhibits that kids of all ages will enjoy. Don’t forget to stop by the Milk and Cookies Shack to enjoy, you guessed it, a milk and cookie treat for only $2.

Here are some Calgary Stampede highlights for your family:

    • Enjoy theĀ Freestyle Motocross at the Monster Energy Compound and see high-flying flips and tricks – amazing gravity-defying stunts.
    • Watch great performers for free with your admission on the Coca-Cola Stage.
    • Looking for some time away from the midway? The BMO Kids’ Zone is great for an indoor break. It is an area set aside suitable for kids under 12 years old.Ā  They have kid-friendly activities such as crafts and play structures. Be sure to check out the Bubble Playshops and a new dinosaur-themed show from Team T&J.
    • Perennial Stampede kids’ favourites usually include well-loved characters. Your kids can meet characters from Paw Patrol and Gabby’s Dollhouse this year!
    • Head to the Dog Bowl and catch the Canine Athletes as they entertain crowds with agility and high-flying stunts.
    • Visit theĀ Elbow River Camp to experience the First Nations culture and traditions, with tipis, entertainment, and local artisans.
    • Check out the Powwow Competition on select days for a celebration of culture and a gathering of community.
