The Calgary Philharmonic Orchestra’s Symphony Sundays are a much-loved concert series that introduce young listeners to high-quality live performances that are made especially for them! Here are the upcoming concerts listings. The concerts are all held at the Jack Singer Concert Hall and all start at 3 pm. But get there early to take part in the Instrument Discovery Zoo before each concert, at 2 pm!
Whimsical and imaginative, this all-Ravel programme brings to life classics that belong in every child’s listening repertoire! We begin with the rollicking and beautifully orchestrated Rigaudon, encounter a gypsy’s fiery dancing in Tzigane — featuring internationally acclaimed violinist Yi-Jia Susanne Hou — and have a surprise special guest narrator lead us through charming fairytales like Sleeping Beauty and Tom Thumb in Mother Goose Suite!

Extra, Extra! Read all about it! Step into the 1920s streets of New York where a poor newspaper boy has a chance encounter with the famous composer, George Gershwin. Together, they explore the many sights and sounds of the city. Gershwin shares anecdotes about his life and musical passion and soon learns the kid has musical talent too… but can the boy find the magic key to unlock it?
