How do you manage PD days in your family? It’s fun to take a day off and do something with your kids or set up an epic play date with a friend. But sometimes that’s not possible and you need other arrangements. Then plan for wacky and wonderful PD days, where your kids have an amazing time and you know they’re safely cared for, with Calgary Young People’s Theatre PD Camps!
Calgary Young People’s Theatre (CYPT) aims to inspire and develop young people in the arts. Kids and youth can explore their creativity in a safe place as they express themselves and their ideas. CYPT offers camps led by professional theatre actors, directors, and playwrights. They are partnering with Green Fools Theatre to offer PD camps this year for an incredible day of theatre and circus experience.
CYPT offers PD Camps for kids ages 6 – 12 years. Campers will dive into the world of theatre, learning about voice, movement, and character. They will also get to experiment with a host of circus skills, including juggling, plate spinning, diabola, poi, and rola-bola. Plus, they can try tight wire, slackline, walking barrels, stilt walking, simple acrobatics, and aerial skills. It will be a day to remember, as the skills are taught in ascending difficulty to ensure fun and success. There is no experience necessary — just show up for an awesome day!
The upcoming PD day camps are February 15 – 16, March 22, April 1, April 19, and May 17, 2024, and camps run from 8:30 am – 4:30 pm.
