Do you have what it takes for basic training? How do you communicate with another ship at sea? Could you find the information necessary to stop an impending battle? Your kids will know the answers to all these questions after a week with The Military Museums Foundation Summer Camps!
The Military Museums is Western Canada’s largest military museum, dedicated to preserving the memories of Canadians who proudly served their country through numerous wars and conflicts. History is more than just dates and names, so The Military Museums Foundation helps bring that Canadian military heritage to life for thousands of learners each year, from the War of 1812 to recent conflicts in Afghanistan.
Summer camps at The Military Museums are offered for kids ages 8 – 13 years and are interactive, bringing history to life. During the week at camp, kids will be exploring the museums inside and outside, taking full advantage of the space and all there is to discover about Canadian military history. During five days of adventures, kids will collect clues to stop an impending battle, build a tank and see if your group can make it to the finish line, and discover how ships communicated at sea. They’ll become engineers and build bridges to withstand heavy weights and even participate in basic training! Scavenger hunts, art activities, board games, and relay races will round out the fun.
These camps run for only four weeks of the summer and are offered for $250 per week. Pre-care and after-care are available from 8 – 9 am and from 4 – 5 pm for a fee, but advance registration is required for this service.
Be sure to register soon to reserve a spot for your child this summer, because it’s time to learn, play, and watch history come to life!
