July is here! Let the summer begin! July is packed full of exciting events and festivals in HRM. We start the month off with a bang celebrating Canada’s birthday on July 1st and then the summer festivals come alive. Check out all that’s happening this month!

Dartmouth Summer Sunshine Festival Series | Weekends All Summer Long

Get ready for an exciting summer of live music and special events on the Dartmouth Waterfront! On weekends this month, the Dartmouth Ferry Terminal Park boasts live entertainment for all ages.

Maritime Fiddle Festival | July 4-5, 2025

Get ready for some toe-tapping fun at the annual Maritime Fiddle Festival – Canada’s longest-running old-time fiddle festival and competition.

The Halifax Mural Festival | July 5-13, 2025

This multi-day event takes place on Quinpool Road and the Halifax Waterfront. See artists from near and far add splashes of colour and bring life to blank walls. Check it out for activities, family fun, street entertainers, music and much more.

Gottingen Street Festival | July 12, 2025

The 11th Annual Gottingen Street Festival is set to team up with Halifax Mural Fest and Unity Fest ’25 for an exciting event on July 12, 2025. Gottingen Street between Cogswell to Buddy Daye Street will be closed to vehicles from 1:00 – 6:00 pm, so you can stroll down the street and take in the sights of the north end. It promises to be a great day filled with newly unveiled murals, talents of local and international artists, local artisans, business deals, and more!

East Coast Kite Festival | July 12-13, 2025

Fly as high as you can at the annual East Coast Kite Festival at the Halifax Citadel. If you’re looking for family fun that promises excitement, beauty and a touch of magic, look no further than the East Coast Kite Festival, hosted by the Atlantic Kite Festival.

AFRIFEST: African Festival of Arts and Culture | July 17-20, 2025

The African Festival of Arts and Culture showcases the unique cultural heritage and artistic works of people of African descent living in Nova Scotia. Follow the drum beat down to the Halifax waterfront to join in the weekend fun.

Halifax Pride Festival | July 17-27, 2025

The annual Halifax Pride Festival boasts some of the best events in the city with TONS of events for kids and families. This 10-day festival hosts many FREE events for all ages. Find out about the Pride Parade here.

Nova Multifest | July 25 – 27, 2025

Come celebrate Nova Scotia at the annual Multifest at the Alderney Landing! Nova Multifest is a celebration of culture and diversity and will showcase music, art, displays and lots of delicacies from many cultures.
