Summer already seems so long ago, but I’ve been thinking back on all of the fun we had. There was a point in my summer when I was worried we weren’t doing enough, and I wasn’t giving my son enough summer experiences. I’m sure many parents feel the same way when they have to balance work and adventure. We did more exploring this summer and tried some new things, but of course explored areas we already love.

Although kids are still in school, as soon as the weather starts to warm up, we like to jump into our summer activities. We fit quite a bit in this June.

The Summer Explored Fort Carlton Provincial Park

We stepped back in time to the original site of a Hudson’s Bay fur-trading post from the early 1800s. It was fun to take part in the tour and learn about all the different areas. One of the rules was to not touch anything without asking first, and the kids did an amazing job respecting this and were able to touch quite a lot of things in the interactive rooms. We had a tour, and then the kids had time for lunch and to run around a little bit, and then they headed for a walk before the bus left.

The Summer We Picked Peonies at Black Fox
