Greek Ladies of Philoptochos Annual Bazaar

Greek Ladies of Philoptochos will host its Annual Greek Bazaar on November 4th and 5th. For just $2 admission (free for kids under 12), you can enjoy home-made authentic Greek food desserts, and crafts. You can eat in or take out. Your admission includes a coffee, home-made pastry and an entry in the daily raffle where you can win one of many great prizes.They will also be selling raffle tickets for a Trip for 2 to Greece (Value $3000) for $5.

The Greek Ladies of Philoptochos is a non-profit charitable organization dedicated to helping those in need in the community. The Greek Annual Bazaar is their only source of funds to provide help to those who need the support. The funds raised are donated to a large variety of organizations such as The Mustard Seed, Women’s Emergency Shelter, World Vision, Operation Eyesight, Canadian Red Cross, Inn from the cold, Alberta Children’s Hospital, Canadian Cancer Society, Kidney Association among many others. This event that features a wide variety of Greek desserts and food, gives the public a taste of Greek culture while raising money for charity. Food and family entertainment on both days.

The Harvest Sale

In pioneer days, autumn meant one thing: lots of hard work on the farm to harvest the season’s wares. Fast forward to modern times and not much has changed. Local farmers have been working hard all spring and summer and on September 10 and 11, Heritage Park will offer you the fruits of their labour. Literally!

Spend some time in Heritage Park’s Historical Village and stop by to stock up on some fresh fruits and vegetables, offered at turn of the century prices! The Calgary Produce Marketing Association will be bringing in truckloads of freshly picked produce, all at bargain prices. Remember to bring your wagon!

In addition to treating your family to some great food and supporting the farming community, you’ll also be supporting some worthy causes. Funds raised at this event will support local charities, including Alberta Children’s Hospital and the Calgary Community Kitchen.
