Oh, sweet summer, how I love thee. The warmth of the sun, a good thunderstorm, the long, light evenings, and playing outside. Of course, there’s also the non-stop chaos in my house. “Can we have . . . friends over, another snack, a lemonade stand, screen time?” But Calgary has terrific summer events for families to keep everyone occupied and happy, and July holds so much fun.

If you have teens, get them to apply to the Conservations Champions Club with the Wilder Institute/Calgary Zoo! The Conservation Champions Club is a year-long program for youth aged 14 – 17. The program will run from September 2023 to June 2024 and includes a mix of virtual classroom time and field trips. Applications will only be accepted until August 18, 2023. This amazing program is designed to inspire and is completely free (but spots are limited!).
