Syéxw Chó:leqw Adventure Park is a great spot for families, with breathtaking hiking trails, indigenous artwork, and a huge playground. It’s the perfect place to spend an entire day immersed in nature and local culture. The nearby Flood Falls offers a short, kid-friendly hike to a beautiful waterfall. Here, you can wade in shallow pools and look for painted birdhouses hidden among the trees.

The Othello Tunnels in Coquihalla Canyon Provincial Park have just reopened after a big restoration, and they’re definitely worth a visit. Walk through the towering railway tunnels and over bridges while the turquoise Coquihalla River rushes below. You can’t help but marvel at the engineering and natural beauty that define this historic site. Although part of the trail is still closed, the open sections are still a great experience for visitors of all ages. This spot means a lot to me because I used to live nearby and got engaged to my husband there! My son hadn’t been since he was little, so it was wonderful to take him back there to explore.

After exploring the tunnels, a visit to the town of Hope is a must. This town is full of character and history, with an ever-growing art walk, quirky shops, and cozy cafes. Stop by the Japanese Friendship Garden in Hope Memorial Park for a peaceful moment next to the pond, or let the kids enjoy the playground. For a taste of local flavour, we recommend lunch at the Hope Mountain Cafe, or sipping fresh smoothies and admiring the cute aesthetic at The Tree Hugger. Don’t forget to pick up some delicious baked treats from the Rolling Pin Bakery to enjoy back at the cabin!
