Snowbear’s Christmas Countdown (words and pictures by Theresa Smythe) quickly became a favourite in our house. The beautiful cut-paper collage illustrations make the pages great fun for the kids.
Each day Snowbear does something new to prepare for Christmas. On day 9 he gets a new tree; we were miraculously brilliant in our timing and got our tree on December 9th too. Our kids thought it was such fun that we did the same thing as Snowbear. Here’s hoping brilliance remembers to strike again next year!
The story covers everything from hanging Christmas lights, to writing a letter to Santa, to eating too many candy canes and the inevitable sick feeling that follows. This is a fun book to start with little ones and it will certainly become a family favourite as the kids grow up.
