Santa with Gift Bags

So I have a small parenting dilemma that I don’t quite know how to handle.

My son got to ‘meet’ and get a gift from Santa at his preschool Christmas party yesterday (gift provided by the parents).  On Saturday both children will get a chance to meet and get a gift from Santa at the children’s Christmas brunch hosted by my husband’s company. So the kids will have received one or two gifts already from Santa well before the big day.

Do you see where I am going with this?  I am wondering if we should still have a gift from Santa for the children on Christmas morning.  The Santa that visits the Martin household has never given extravagant gifts; usually a book or smaller toy that fits in the stocking.  Since they’ve already had gifts why should they get another? But they are still believers and I don’t want to disappoint.

How glad am I that I don’t have an Elf on the Shelf to complicate things! 🙂

So should we forgo the Christmas morning gift from Santa in lieu of a letter from Santa saying how great it was to meet them and give them a gift in person for a change rather than when they are sleeping?  Or bite the bullet brave the malls again for their 3rd small gift?
