MRU Camps
MRU Camps are a vital part of the community. They have been shaping youth in Calgary since 1990 by providing an environment for kids to grow, develop, and thrive. Beyond programs, MRU Camps supports the community through bursaries, adapted programming for youth with disabilities, food and toy drives, and more.
Every camp program gets reviewed and updated yearly to ensure campers stay engaged with new skills and experiences. It also means that activities keep pace with advancements in education and industry trends, all while being age-appropriate. Even if your child has attended many camps here, every summer will bring a new, enriching experience!
What to Expect
With a range of camp options, from creating something amazing and learning new skills to being active and having an adventure, you’ll find an MRU Camp that is just right for your child.
Camp programs are available for kids ages 4 – 15 years, with options from sports to the arts to STEM. MRU Camps for older youth in grades 7 – 9 focus on leadership skills and skill-building, helping this age group stay engaged over the summer and learn valuable skills. Kids will have access to a variety of spaces around the campus to enhance their experience, including classrooms, science and computer labs, the MRU Recreation Centre (pool, climbing wall, and gymnasiums), and ample outdoor fields.
Camps run from 9 AM – 4 PM, with complimentary before and after care beginning at 8 AM and ending at 5 PM.
MRU Summer Camps
What will your kids choose? Where will your kids thrive? It’s time to play and learn!
Art & Creative Camps require kids to use their hands. Kids from kindergarten to grade 9 can discover the arts, from drama sessions to photography to architecture.
Music, Dance & Drama Camps will satisfy kids from grades 1 to 6 who dream of the spotlight. Keep the vibrant Calgary arts scene alive with the next generation!
Sport & Outdoor Camps keep kids from grades 1 to 9 active and engaged in a variety of sports, from yoga to team sports to climbing. The littlest campers will practice physical literacy through a variety of fun and engaging games and unstructured free play. They’ll all sleep well at night!
STEM Camps explore the mysteries of the modern world and provide interactive activities for campers to expand their minds. Kids from kindergarten to grade 9 will enjoy a wide variety of camps in this theme, like Prehistoric Preschoolers, Junior Robotics, or Young Aviators, to name a few.
