BOO!

Did I scare you?

No? Well, I’ll just have to practice some more!

We’ve been in full blown Halloween decorating mode around our home because we have to keep up with the neighbours who have tombstones, bats, a full sized blow up Frankenstein, a giant inflatable black cat (nick-named Frank) and  Dracula hanging out in a coffin. My son is petrified of their house!

We took a trip to the local dollar store and came away with some fun decorations at really reasonable prices. Lots of cob webs, those little pumpkin baggies that you fill with paper, a bat that flits around, caution tape and some spooky skeleton wall decorations. Add some pumpkins and “jacky-lanterns” and poof! Halloween has arrived at our place! We may not be in the competition for spookiest house on the street, but we sure do look like we’re having fun trying!

And as always “Ghostie” makes his appearance. We made Ghostie about 3 years ago using a few old t-shirts and some leftover tulle that I had. I simply laid out the tulle, balled up the t-shirts for the head, tied it off and used a sharpie to paint a face on. He gets hung from the tree each year using fishing line (because it’s strong but invisible) and startles me each time I look out the window!ghostie

And to get into the eerie spirit a little more, we’ve been enjoying the Disney Junior line-up of Halloween themed episodes Saturday & Sunday mornings this month as we prep for the big day! Handy Manny is up next weekend (October 21)!

BOO!

How about now? Still nothing? Sigh…

Happy Halloween!
