Pirate adventures in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina featured image

South Carolina is famous for its Grand Strand, a sixty-plus mile stretch of pristine beach, and for the seaside city of Myrtle Beach. A popular destination for golfers and shoppers, children aren’t forgotten when it comes to having an incredible time in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.

Kids are usually content to spend a lot of time in the sand and surf, but when they’ve had enough of being in the sun there are numerous waterparks, mini golf and exploration centres for them to enjoy.

Our favourites? The ones that take it up a notch and combine the region’s fabled pirate history into the attraction themes. You see, in the 1700s, English colonists in South Carolina were importing and exporting goods across the ocean, and pirates were intercepting cargo vessels for their plunder. The coves and inlets of the South Carolina coastal waters allowed plenty of cover for the pirates, and famous pirate Blackbeard is a local legend.

Pirates Voyage is an interactive dinner show suited for all ages. Guests enjoy a four course feast while the Crimson and Sapphire pirates battle each other on the deck of full-sized pirate ships, in a 15-foot deep indoor hideaway lagoon and in the sky. Live animals and an original music score by Dolly Parton are combined to create an immersive adventure experience.
