School’s out! The summer season is in full swing, and Saskatoon families are looking to make the best of the season. Getting out and about can be expensive, but, lucky for Saskatonians, there are plenty of fun and inexpensive things to do in Saskatoon this summer that won’t break the bank. Here are a few of our top picks:

Inexpensive Things to Do in Saskatoon This Summer

  2. Speaking of pools, why not make a splash at a City of Saskatoon Paddling Pool? These facilities are FREE and come staffed with a summer student who will entertain kids with crafts and games right on-site. Check schedule for opening hours. With over 30 locations, you’re never far from a paddling pool.
  3. As well as regular performances of Titus A puppet revenge, The Merry Wives of Windsor, and Hamlet, the Community Stage at Shakespeare on Saskatchewan hosts FREE performances of dance, play-readings, poetry, spoken word, bands, and more throughout the season. Performances begin at 6pm Tuesday through Sunday, and also at noon on Sunday.
  4. Hit up a playground in Saskatoon! Scattered throughout the city on school grounds or in public green spaces, there are dozens of awesome playgrounds to choose from in Saskatoon. Play the day away, and don’t spend a penny! Check out our list of Top Ten Playgrounds in Saskatoon for 2018.
