Featured Event: GLOW Winter Festival
Brighten up your nights with the GLOW Calgary’s Winter Festival from February 14 to 18! GLOW is a FREE family-friendly winter festival where the worlds of art, music, entertainment, and winter fun will unite under the lights on Stephen Avenue. The festival is spread across four blocks of Stephen Avenue, between 1st St. SE and 3rd St. SW. Plan a date night with your sweetheart, meet up with friends, or take the kids out for some fun. With live music, dancing, outdoor lounges, and stunning light show installations, kids and adults alike will find something to celebrate this winter.
What does it take to raise over 1.5 million trout each year?! Now that the Sam Livingston Fish Hatchery at Bow Habitat Station has re-opened, you can find out with guided tours and fish feeding times!
Get the month started off with a little dreaming. The Calgary RV Expo and Sale is at the BMO Centre until February 2. Plan ahead for the open road this summer!
On February 2, the Calgary Philharmonic Orchestra is bringing you Symphony Sunday, a kid-friendly symphony performance that you’ll all enjoy. Listen to the story of The Hockey Sweater and indulge in this beautiful Canadian story. Don’t forget to wear your favourite team’s hockey jersey!
Stay warm and catch dinner and a show with Jubilations Junior! They are presenting The Frozen Princess Bride every Saturday over lunch. It’s a show the kids will love that’s fun (and funny) for the whole family! Or, head to the Southland Leisure Centre for a Dive-In Movie on February 8 because they are showing Frozen 2.
After the RV Expo comes the Calgary Boat and Outdoors Show from February 6 – 9. They even have special exhibits for the kids, so the whole family can enjoy this.
If you’re looking for more sports, the Calgary Hitmen are bringing you Sunday Funday on February 9. You can come early and check out the Family Fun Zone with games, face painting, interactive inflatables, and more.
The Canmore Winter Festival will help you celebrate the season with winter fun you might never have imagined. The carnival features ice carving, snow sculpting, fun family activities, and lots more. (Beavertail eating contest, anyone?!) Go skating, play street hockey, watch a log-sawing competition, and enjoy the pooch parade.

Loose Moose Theatre Company is presenting The Three Pigs for most of February. Get your tickets for an experience that is truly magical for children 4 – 10 years old, as well as fun and entertaining for parents. Or, head to the Storybook Theatre for The Neverending Story starting February 14.
Finish the month off with the Calgary Home and Garden Show. It’s the BMO Centre from February 27 to March 1 and filled with creative and current ideas for you.
