The August long weekend is a celebration of our province. It’s Saskatchewan Day! It seemed appropriate to make up a list of amazing Saskatchewan destinations for your day off! Not only that but I’ve asked around to find out what we love most about Saskatchewan! What is your favourite thing about our land of the living skies? A few of these will be strictly Saskatoon based but we’ll try to share farther away. Here are some great ideas to celebrate.

One of the best things about our province are the amazing lakes. Great beaches, beautiful views, and lots of water.

If you’re staying in Saskatoon, make sure you celebrate Saskatchewan Day at the 2023 Saskatoon Fringe Festival!  A Saskatchewan summer is best with festivals!

If you want to celebrate this amazing province we live in, make sure to take a drive out to the Crooked Bush! Check out the botanical mystery and step onto a trail lined with crooked and curved trees.

On your travels, make sure you check out all the local breweries or cideries across Saskatchewan. Most are child friendly and the perfect place to cheers our province.

May we suggest 5 Hikes In and Around Saskatoon? A hike around this beautiful province might be just what your family needs. It’ll give you a chance to truly appreciate the unique and beauty that Saskatchewan holds.

For those of you not near Saskatoon, we have a favourite place to hike near Regina as well. The Wascana Trails are breathtaking. You won’t regret going on a hike here.

One great thing about Saskatchewan? We have amazing food and amazing treats. Make sure to try out some of our very best ice creams! Check out Saskatoon Ice Cream Shops. These also include some out of town trips. Some worthy road trips are Lil Bean Ice Cream in Rosthern (and make sure to take a wander or drive around town to see all the other amazing sites) and Twisted Sisters in Chamberlain.

Take the family for some Family fun AND Farm Fun Around Saskatoon! Saskatchewan is home to many amazing family-friendly farms. Meet some animals, see the beautiful country views and learn a little more about the farming.

If you’re from Saskatchewan or visiting Saskatchewan, we highly suggest a visit to Wanuskewin Heritage Park. It’s an amazing chance to learn about some history of this province.

We’ve got some worthy road trips for you! Little Red River ParkBorden Bridge walk or hikeStranraer and area and more! The best part about this province of ours is the different places. No place is the same. You’ll find beauty unique to the area. You can even stop by Beaver Creek and feed the chickadees.

Pick some flowers! There are a lot of amazing Flower Farms around Saskatoon, including Flower Child – Kid’s U-Pick at Robertson Valley Farm! We LOVE LOVE LOVE picking flowers and had a blast at Flower U-Pick at Robertson Valley Farm.

The last thing on the list of amazing things about Saskatchewan is the sky. Check out a sunrise or a sunset, take a look at the amazing sky during a storm, or check out the clouds above some beautiful Saskatchewan scenery. Take a moment to just enjoy our beautiful sky. The view of the fields along the Saskatchewan skyline is the best.
