Well, even in Calgary, we can safely say that spring has arrived! I love this time of year and the possibilities it holds. (Almost as much as I love moving the outgrown snow pants and dirty boots out the door. And that last lonely mitten that doesn’t have a pair and no one apparently has ever seen before? Who cares anymore?) I love spring. There are all kinds of great things happening in Calgary when the weather turns warm, so it’s time to get out and play!
Oh, I love a good deal and I love going to garage sales to find all the things I never knew I needed! Hunting for the best deals takes time, but with the community parade of garage sales around Calgary, you can hit lots of garage sales in one day, without a lot of driving. That Very Useful Engine is coming back to town, ready to whisk you to the Island of Sodor. (Okay, really just around Heritage Park over the first 2 weekends of May.) During Day Out With Thomas at Heritage Park, your train lovers can ride in a train pulled by Thomas himself and enjoy all kinds of other train activities.

Maybe I’m biased, but the CBC Calgary Reads Big Book Sale needs to be on everyone’s calendar! (It’s May 11 – 13, if you want to write it down.) This is the 16th annual Big Book Sale event and an important fundraiser, supporting a year-long commitment to literacy for children across Alberta. Get ready for a great summer reading!
