Family Day in Canada

The third Monday in February is Family Day in many provinces across Canada (and Heritage Day in Nova Scotia!). Celebrating families is a great excuse for a day off, and there are many great activities that you can share with your loved ones all across the country.

Family Fun Halifax

Check out a n Exhibition at a Museum. Most museums are open on Heritage Day, so this would be a great time to check out one of the fantastic exhibits happening this month in HRM. Many locations have FREE admission on Heritage Day. Whether you are passing along your appreciation for the visual arts or hoping to teach your child about the world and all of its creatures, you will find something for everyone at a Halifax museum or gallery.
Take the Family Skiing. Nova Scotia has some amazing winter sports opportunities, including several fun family skiing options. The hills will be open on Heritage Day, and some even have extended hours, be sure to check each location’s website for more details when you’re planning your day.

Family Fun Saskatoon

Family Day at Wonderhub. You can spend Family Day at Nutrien Wonderhub this year to create, learn and play with your family. Even better, Wonderhub is usually closed the first two days of the week, but they will be welcoming you and your kids on Family Day Monday and on Tuesday.

Family Day Weekend at Blackstrap Provincial Park. Family Day Weekend at Blackstrap Provincial Park will be full of outdoor fun with something for every age. Events from snowshoeing to s’mores run all weekend long.

Family Fun Edmonton

Family Day at the Legislature. Spend the day at the Legislative Assembly of Alberta and celebrate where the holiday began. It will be a full afternoon of free, family-friendly activities, including tours, crafts, and storytelling, plus an exciting lineup of musicians, circus entertainers, and magicians on the main stage. Sport Calgary Winter Festival. Get ready for a day of family fun, sports, and outdoor activities! The Sport Calgary Winter Festival is coming to the Olympic Oval.
