March 2020 many (most) events are cancelled due to the state of emergency of COVID-19
The calendar is insisting that spring is coming. Even in Calgary. The evenings get longer (too bad we have to lose an hour of sleep for that) and the weather could start warming up. I hope. And many schools have a week off! Check out some fun things to do in Calgary during March 2020.
Spring break is right around the corner. If you’re looking for a more structured plan for the week off, we’re working hard on building a convenient guide to spring break camp ideas in Calgary this year. Even if Mom and Dad don’t have to work, sometimes camp is just plain fun.
The Red & White Calgary Comic & Toy Expo is taking place on March 8 at McMahon Stadium. Plan a costume for the contest (not just for kids!), enter to win great prizes, and enjoy comics, toys, and games for all ages!
On March 14, from 10 am to 4 pm, get your tickets for Cabane a Sucre Sugar Shack, featuring French Canadian, Métis and First Nations folkloric music and dances, maple taffy and indoor and outdoor activities for the whole family.
The Alberta Ballet is presenting Peter Pan the first weekend of March break, for the perfect start to your family fun! A trip to Neverland, a crocodile who does the tango, and plenty of flying will make it a family night to remember!
Catch dinner (lunch) and a show. Jubilations Jr. is presenting The Frozen Princess Bride until mid-March.
The beautiful silver-haired Princess has been locked away by evil forces. Will her dear sweet long-lost love Lesley ever come to rescue her? Or will the Greatest Sword Fighter in the world and his friend The Giant get to Lesley first?? What will happen??? The only thing we know for sure is there will be great songs and lots of laughs!
From March 15 – 17, Earth Science for Society is holding a free, family-friendly event where you can visit four themed pavilions including Energy for Us, Resources and You, One Dynamic Earth and Our Future! Hands-on, interactive exhibits demonstrate the importance of the Earth Sciences in our everyday lives.
Come claim the luck of the Irish and celebrate St. Patrick’s Day at the Calgary Farmers Market. You can enjoy live entertainment like fiddlers and Irish dancers, plus fun games.
The Calgary Baby and Tot Show is March 28 and 29. Find out everything you need to know for children from bump to school-age. Families will enjoy parented play areas, arts and crafts, and ongoing entertainment for the whole family.
Earth Hour is on March 28! You can take part at home, of course, OR you could head down to St. Patrick’s Island for Calgary Unplugged, a fun event where we can raise environmental awareness together with games, activities, and bike-powered music and lights.
